Dragon fruit brightens skin and controls acne-causing oils, making it a potent anti-acne aid. All you need is dragon fruit, white rice, Vitamin E oil, Rose water.

Why Rice? Rice is a rich source of antioxidants, which are essential for fighting free radicals that damage skin cells and cause premature aging. These antioxidants help to reduce inflammation, improve skin elasticity, and promote collagen production, which is essential for maintaining youthful skin. Rice also contains ferulic acid, which has been shown to protect the skin from UV damage and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

In addition to its anti-aging benefits, rice is also a great source of energy and essential nutrients. It is rich in complex carbohydrates, which provide sustained energy throughout the day. Rice is also a good source of B vitamins, which are essential for maintaining healthy skin, hair, and nails. It is also rich in minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium, which are important for maintaining healthy bones and muscles.

Why Vitamin E oil? As an antioxidant, Vitamin E can improve the appearance of skin by helping the face look firmer and fuller, and helping keep some of the main signs of aging, i.e. wrinkles and fine lines, at bay. It does this by keeping the lipids (natural fats) fresh in the skin, which helps keep the skin’s protective barrier intact.

Why rose water? Rose water is used in a lot of beauty products because of its ability to reduce the signs of aging. When applied to an area, rose water plumps the skin and improves the appearance of wrinkles. Rose water also tightens the skin, meaning that your skin looks firmer and more radiant.

Fill a bowl with cool water and add one teaspoon of baking soda per cup of water and mix well. Place your dragon fruit in the bowl and petit soak for some minutes or simply use your hands to wash. You can as well use a scrub brush to gently scrub the surface of the fruit. Rinse the fruit thoroughly to remove any baking soda residue.

Baking soda is a mild abrasive that can help scrub away dirt and grime from your produce. It is also a natural disinfectant that can help kill bacteria and other harmful microorganisms that may be present in your fruits and vegetables. Additionally, baking soda is safe to use on most produce and won’t leave any harmful residue or taste.

Place the dragon fruit on a cutting board on its side and slice it in half lengthwise. You will have two halves ready to work with. (1)Cut off the bottom stem. (2)Next up, cut a horizontal line through the skin until you reach the flesh just below the bottom stem. (3)Then, cut a vertical line from the bottom to point, which you cut off in step(1), to the line you cut in step(2). After that, peel the skin from the flesh from the vertical line you cut in step(3) until you only have the flesh and the peel separately. Place the peels in a blender/mixer/grinder.

The peel of a dragon fruit/pitaya has high amounts of pectins, vitamins, antioxidants, betacyanin and fibers, and has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for ages.

3. Preparing rice

Start by placing your rice in a bowl and cover the grains with water. Using your hands, gently swirl the rice around until the water becomes cloudy. Pour out the water-but make sure the rice remains in the bowl-and repeat until the water is clear. Get a separate bowl and a strainer and strain the washed rice. Place the rice in a blender too, add 2 tablespoons of rose water and blend until smooth.

Rice Rice reduces signs of aging like wrinkles and fine lines. It is rich in antioxidants that reduce elastase, a compound that causes premature aging on the skin. Therefore, you can use rice water as a solution to reduce fine lines, age marks, and dark spots and delay the aging process. The starch in rice can improve and soothe impaired skin barriers such as atopic dermatitis and acne while keeping your skin hydrated.

Rose water Rose water is known for its ability to clarify and balance your skin, leading to a refreshed, revitalized appearance. It also has calming and soothing effects when applied to your skin, which helps soothe redness and irritation. Proper hydration is key for youthful, glowing skin, and rose water is a natural hydrator.

Place a fine-mesh strainer over a bowl, and line the strainer with cheesecloth. You want to use a large enough piece that you’ll be able to gather the corners into a bag. Pour the blended ingredients over the cheesecloth/strainer, allowing the liquid to start to collect in the bowl.

Cheesecloth is a cotton material that can be used for straining liquids. The cloth is finely woven and comes in grades which denote the number of woven threads per square inch-the higher the grade the finer the cloth. Cheesecloth is excellent for straining purees and sauces.

5. Adding vitamin E oil

Grab a separate container and in it, add 2-3 tablespoons of blended and strained dragon/rice puree. Add a few drops of vitamin e oil and mix well.

There are numerous possible benefits of vitamin E oil for skin, especially in people with dry or itchy skin, psoriasis, and eczema. It may also help prevent wrinkles, heal wounds, and make scars less visible. If you experience frequent breakouts or have pores that clog easily, applying topical vitamin E oil could aggravate your symptoms. Dry skin is one of the major reasons for early skin aging. Often dry skinned people experience more wrinkles and fine lines. Vitamin E is antioxidant-rich and the antioxidants present in vitamin E oil can improve your blood circulation . Having moisturizing properties, this oil can make your skin look firm and youthful! Vitamin E oil also helps with acne scarring due to its skin repair qualities, and its skin-strengthening and skin barrier repair qualities.

6. Transferring face serum to a bottle

Stir to combine. Transfer to a bottle and you’re done! A 25mL (roughly 1 fl oz) bottle is a good fit for this batch size.

SHELF LIFE & STORAGE

Because this serum is naturally made, kept reasonably cool and dry, it should last at least 14 days before any bacteria growth. If you notice it starts to smell like old nuts or crayons, that’s a sign that it’s not good anymore; chuck it out and make a fresh batch if that happens.
